About Us
Zero Impact Packaging was conceived in 2001 by Faber Dewar who has been a featured carpenter on The Learning Channel's Trading Spaces. With a background in furniture-making, his methods have always been environmentally friendly. He used recycled wood and sustainable, indigenous species to create his pieces. He also incorporated a wide range of ecologically safe products for use on furniture and in the home.
As he witnessed the growing landfills and rampant waste throughout the world, Faber saw the critical need to create an alternative to consumer packaging. A typical plastic bottle or bag can take up to one thousand years to decompose. In addition there are tremendous, negative effects on our health. The plastic packaging used for the majority of our food and beverage products are known to leach toxins into our body and can lead to fatale illnesses. Thorough research showed that by using bioplastics we can solve the environmental hazzard as well as protect our health.
Zero Impact Packaging's goal is to create public awareness of the dangers we face and the solutions available. With the currently available bioplastics there could be an immediate and seamless transition away from hazordous plastics. This could be done without sacrificing price or functionality. And the result would be a cleaner world!
In addition to his quest for a cleaner environment, Faber has also developed a new bottled water brand called Life's Phinest. Bottled at its source in Montana, Life's Phinest is sold in a biodegradable corn starch bottle.
We are proud to affiliate ourselves with the Go Green Initiative. Our mutual goal is to educate children around the world about the stewardship of our planet and what it takes to maintain its well being. We at Zero Impact Packaging want to do our part and hope you will too!
